About Hopeland

Hopeland Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation supporting HIV affected orphans, and we also hold HIV awareness and prevention programs, youth empowerment programs and environmental sustainability programs. Look through to 'Our Programs' section on the website for details on these programs to address issues in Gingo, Homabay, Kenya.

September 2016
Hopeland Foundation's Founder and Director attended a 10 week course as a successful candidate for the Mandela Washington Fellowship at Howard University in the United States. The program has been developed for passionate young leaders across Africa to grow their skills to help their local communities even more.
Calvince has come home now, with his usual passion for change, with even more knowledge and ability to do so now. It will be fantastic to see how Hopeland Foundation, and Calvince, continue to grow from this Fellowship.













 

February-March 2015

Noligan's eye treatment is going very well and she is near the end- with the opportunity to go to school after just a few more sessions!! 
 

January 2015

Hopeland built a new classroom to open up our school. We are now able to teach grade 1 students and hope to be able to continue to grow the school each year. 

December 2014
Our first HIV/AIDS adult education and outreach program was started!

 

 

September-November 2014
A fundraiser was held for Hopeland Foundation in mid September and over $2000 was raised.
Late-September, Emily visited from Australia to see Hopeland's progress and to develop future plans of action. With the fundraising money Hopeland was able to install solar power, buy more materials for the school and buy other necessities. 
Noligan was taken to Sabatia Eye Centre to start treatment for her deteroirated eye condition caused by allergenic conjuctivitis. She has since been to three appointments and we are continuing her treatment for as long as necessary.
Hopeland is looking into donations or sponsorship to assist Noligan. If you would like to help or know someone who could please contact Hopelandfoundation13@gmail.com

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

May 2014

Ochieng and the students will be holding a tree planting session at the end of the month and plant trees around the school grounds.

Hopeland has also made a new partnership with
Youth Banner. In this weekly program held on Wednesday, Youth Banner visit and hold a program where the youth can learn more about businesses that they can start to boost their livelihood.

The youth have showed a lot of interest in the program and are realizing untapped potential, like in sport.
